Mustang Trem’ installation
A few weeks back I installed a Fender dynamic vibrato on Tim’s duosonic. I couldn’t find any useful info on the route required online, so I created my own template, working from photo’s and the trem.
I routed the spring cavities 1 1/4″ deep, and fitted the bridge studs with a 8.5mm badpoint drill, spaced 73mm apart.
Here you can see the string alignment. Getting the bridge in the right place is important, otherwise your strings won’t run parallel to the fretboard edges, so it’s worth double checking before you drill! I put the bridge in the right place, which is more than can be said for the original factory job, which was a good 1.5mm off centre…
