GT Blue Bird of Happiness

Friday, December 10th, 2004

We had a great escapade out of the office on Wednesday, when eight of us went to a glamourous King’s Road pub for a day of “Brainstorming Training”. In the late afternoon we were asked to use primary school art supplies to explain “what is Good Technology and what would it like to be in a year”.

Here is my contribution - the GT bird of happiness:

GT Bird of Happiness

Rendered in our beautiful company colours, the bird stands proudly at the end of a trail of glittering “new media eggs” that it has effortlessly produced from its feathery posterior.

[Note for Jamie: here is my revenge - I may be a geek, but on Wednesday I got paid to play with Play-Doh.]

EOTN cancellation @ 93 Feet East

No photos of the band, so here are random photos of the Brick Lane environs:

Jamie has pointed out that my last post is “off the scale” geekery - to amuse him I must talk about the End Of The New concert that never was. It’s a sad tale of a gig cancelled at the last minute because of a missing drum kit, followed by some fairly justifiable bitterness from the rest of the band.

A note to all drummers: if you’re expecting to use somebody elses kit, at least turn up to the sound check to see if it exists. Better yet, check that the venue has its own kit before deciding not to bring yours.

Dawn Of War Interactive Banners

Hey, this is fun - an unofficial banner that tracks my multiplayer statistics in Dawn Of War:

As you can see, I suck at the game. I guess the stats will be updated as I continue to play, but at the time of posting I’ve won a staggering 5 out of 32 games. I have a hard time getting the rating to hover even a couple of points above the newbie starting value of 1000.

Sniff…. Cough!

Friday, December 3rd, 2004

Yuck. Just got back to work after a three day spell at home with the most evil cold ever. It’s now morphed into a vicious cough, which might mean that my immune system is taking the bastard virus into some kind of biological endgame. At least I can get out of the house now.

The only thing of interest I have to relate is this - I have developed an addiction to this song by Stig: Phat Elvis Impressions

Download and listen if you suspect you might enjoy a demented experimental punk band based around duelling trumpets.

Update: This song has been taken down. Try this one instead: Stig as Fuck
