My Phidget has arrived.

My usb servo controller has arrived from www.phidgets.com in Canada and I’ve managed to get it to jiggle the servo around on demand, which is enough to do what I have in mind. To make this noodling more interesting for spectators, a plastic smurf has been blu-tacked onto the servo shaft.

In case you’re wondering what a servo is, this page has a nice simple explanation, along with a useful hack to turn a servo into a simple motor.

Best suggestion so far - couple the servo to a motion detector and a stuffed beaver from Get Stuffed taxidermists. Then you can have the beaver turn to track and stare at people in the room…. creepy!

Dude! Are you going to build a deadly-but-sexy killer robot woman to
help you take over the world? If you are, can you make her look like
Yasmine Bleeth? … that would totally rock \m/

Hmmm. My current purchase would enable only one moving part on this hypothetical killer robot woman. What a dilemma - should I opt for evil swivelling action man eyes or a working trigger finger?
